Reasons to Call 911


Residents should call 911 any time they need police, fire, or ambulance to respond. The following reasons are acceptable reasons to call 911:
  • Call 911 for any situation that requires a police officer, such as traffic accidents, burglaries, thefts, property damage, parking complaints, ordinance violations, or animal control issues.
  • Call 911 to request an ambulance, receive medical attention, or to report fires or signs of a fire such as smoke or fire alarms.
  • Call 911 to report odd, suspicious, or criminal activity such as shouts for help, breaking glass, loitering, trespassing, or suspicious vehicles or people.
  • If you witness an accident, fire, or crime, call 911.
  • If you encounter any incident that may require the response of the police, fire, or ambulance personnel, call 911.
